Getting Started

Welcome to Train Wright Wrestling!

Train Wright Wrestling began as an idea inspired by other online technique platforms. At first, I wanted to film techniques and practices so that only my wrestlers would have access to instruction at home. Then I thought it might be a good idea to open it up to the public. Coming from Arkansas — a state still relatively new to the sport — I realized many coaches and kids need guidance, so why not offer a service that’s friendly to all levels?

I started wrestling in Arkansas, but I am originally from California. I didn’t wrestle until I moved to Arkansas. In California, wrestling was introduced as a middle-school curriculum, so there was an awareness of the sport — something we are still building here in Arkansas. With so many coaches who lack access to guidance on “how to train wrestlers” or “what to teach in the practice room,” this platform provides that service.

Although I have had success as a coach, I am by no means the best technician or the best wrestler, but I can help coaches adopt an approach to the sport that helps their athletes succeed. I acquired this information through my high school and college wrestling experience and through coaching athletes from the beginning.

By starting a platform like this, I accept the risk of criticism and naysayers — and that’s fine. Honestly, this is a way to make others better and to improve myself as well. As a coach, you should always be looking to grow either your brand or your program. When I came up with the idea, I did face doubts about “not being good enough” or whether this would “make it big,” but this is something I enjoy and strive to be part of. I hope to be a coach who contributes to wrestlers’ development and sees their long-term success.

With all that said, I hope you enjoy the website and choose to subscribe to one of the memberships!
